247Sports spoke with Quarterback Frank Nutile both Tuesday and Wednesday night. The Wednesday conversation occurred after he announced his Temple commitment.
Why did you commit?
I talked it over with my Dad and we decided to commit. I cancelled my trip to Cincinnati and Indiana. I love Temple’s offensive and coaching staff. It is a great fit for me.
Why are you interested in Temple? Tuesday night
It would be great situation to come into. Coach Matt Rhule told me his has brought the system in from The New York Giants. It is a spread pro style and really fits me well.
I can make all the throws and that is why they are very interested in me.
I camped at Temple Sunday. Temple told me they really liked my tape. I did real well at the camp. Coach Allen Mogridge recruits my area. I’ve also been talking with offensive coordinator, Coach Marcus Satterfield. Both have been calling me since the camp.
Nutile on Don Bosco’s 2012 season and his expectations for 2013.
I started every game last year. I passed for over 1,400 yards (121/198/13TDs/9INTs).
We have a lot of guys coming back this season. We very young last year.
Nutile can throw a football between 60 – 65 yards.
Don Bosco went 8-3 last season. The Ironmen played a national schedule losing to Baltimore (MD) Gilman 13-6 and defeated eventual Florida 6A state champion, St. Thomas Aquinas. They also took a trip to Utah and defeated Alta 52-24.
The Ironmen have Philadelphia’s St. Joseph’s Prep, California’s Mission Viejo, Florida’s Miami-Central and Washington, DC’s Friendship Academy on the 2013 ‘dance card.'
Nutile on his academics and his family.
I have a 3.6 GPA and I did very well on my SATs.
Nutile's Dad also was a quarterback.
My Dad played at Maryland and transferred to Louisville. He initially was going to Miami but Harold Schnellenberger left to coach in The USFL. When Schnellenberger went to Louisville my Dad transferred to play for the Cardinals.
I have a fifteen year old sister and she plays volleyball.
